been supporting GIA team since 2013.

GIA is contributing for the self-reliance of young women through Adventure tourism in Nepal. They are challenging the patriarchal social structure where tourism is male dominated sector simultaneously preparing the community for adapting climate change by strengthening women agencies in the community.

As a self-led group of women mountaineers they are also advocating for the conservation of
Mountains which are melting as result of climate change. The organization is also involved in
Mountain Clean Up campaign and has plan to create Mountain clubs in local public and private schools of the community involving the youths for mountain conservation. They are creating awareness on climate change and it’s impacts on women. The organization has also organized tree plantation to conserve the barren land so as to contribute for minimizing the vulnerability of land slides in Panchpokhari Thangpal Municipality of Sindhupalchowk.

GIA has played a crucial role in empowering women with knowledge and skills related to
climate resilience, fostering gender equality and community engagement. Through capacity
building, participants have gained expertise in sustainable practices, allowing them to advocate for and implement environmental solutions. Leadership training has equipped women to take active roles in climate-related decision-making, reinforcing their involvement in sustainable development.

GIA success has empowered women to become climate leaders, making meaningful
contributions to their communities. By enhancing climate literacy, promoting leadership, and driving sustainable initiatives, the program has laid a strong foundation for climate resilience and environmental stewardship in Sindhupalchowk.
