Walk-a-Thon 2019
Participants during Walk-a-Thon

Tewa's fundraising event is diverse in nature. Walk-a-Thon, one of the Annual Fundraising Events of Tewa was initiated in 1999 A.D with the objective to increase the visibility of Tewa and to support our local fundraising program. But as time went by, this program has become the medium for Tewa and its donors to connect with each other and an opportunity for us to raise our voice to advocate for the rights of women and ongoing issues.

In the year of 2019, the event was organized on February 16th in presence of more than 150 people inclusive of our donors, grantee partners, volunteers, Board & General Members, staff and community people from Godamchaur Municipality, Lalitpur. The walk started from Khumaltar all the way to Thaiba and the destination Godamchaur (where Tewa organized another Fundraising Event: Tree Plantation on August). The walk began with lots of enthusiasm and advocating for the rights of women along with the traditional Dhime Baaja.

The program was concluded with the thank you note from the Development Director of Tewa, Mr. Deepal Dewan, and a speech from the community chairperson along with the sharing from one of the women's group of Godamchaur who are growing the trees we planted during our Tree Plantation program.

We raised NRs 3,16,270/- from this event. We put forward our sincere thanks to our donors, supporters, volunteers and our partners. Corporate institutions like FedEx, Siddhartha Bank, Mega Bank Nepal Ltd., Western Union, The Winding Road, Solution Consultant, Asri Jewelers, Pixel Point Pvt.
